I know there aren't many people exploring the fediverse from the UK heritage sector, but worth a try: is anyone out there associated with a museum or gallery (etc) in Leeds?
I would like to connect with such people!
Wow, this is getting a lot more boosts than expected!
I think it's probably worth mentioning that I've got a book coming out next month: https://tkbriggs.co.uk/other-projects/publications/the-mathematicians-library/
I don't know many people in Leeds at all, but I do have some funding to work with some museums & galleries in Leeds, and I'm looking for people at organisations who might be interested in taking advantage of that. I'm using a very broad definition of "museums and galleries" and can probably cover pretty much any org working in the heritage/cultural sector. I think libraries will probably qualify!
He's Yorkshire based but @garybrannan might be able to help (he's also at https://bsky.app/profile/garybrannan.bsky.social )
@rbairwell @garybrannan Thanks Richard, and hello Gary!
I've got some funding to work with a handful of Leeds-based heritage organisations (which I'm defining very loosely). I just need to find some organisations fitting that description that also have people interested in working with a freelancer (me) to discover mathematical themes in some of their stories & objects & develop some sort of educational activity around them. My fees are covered plus there's a small amount extra that can be applied for to cover some resource development costs.
