When communities got together in force to show the Gestapo just how unwelcome they were, their Jewish populations were much safer.

The people who take that kind of job are fundamentally cowards. Part of it is that when they see how outnumbered they are, they get scared of immediate consequences. We see that today with how much ICE cries about whatever percent increase in assaults of ICE agents there have been (I'm positive they include hurt feelings in those stats).

However, probably a larger factor was that seeing such a large amount of resistance made them wonder, "Oh shit, what are these people going to do to me if this whole NAZI thing doesn't work out..." Social pressure is extremely powerful - even more so with cowards.

We have to know who these people are and we need them to know we know. The Sixth Amendment gives us the right to know their identities. As we have become all too aware, these rights only exist if we assert that they do.

I say this more for the benefit of liberals than fascists - there is no such thing as doxxing an ICE agent. Obviously, fascists have a vested interest in claiming that they have the right to brutalize people anonymously. Liberals have a habit of wringing their hands whenever fascists confidently say they're allowed to do whatever they want.
