Teacher. As I say goodbye to another year of children, my fess is that I'm quitting teaching. One child has been held back a year, he's the worst child I have ever taught in my 12 years of teaching. Simply can't deal with him for another year.

Have you tried to find ways of coping (or discussing him with someone) before deciding to quit? To give up something that helps so many others, especially if you enjoy it, because of one person is tragic.

Because, of course, the teaching profession is unique in that one must work their entire career at the same school with no option of moving elsewhere...

We've all met awful or toxic students (usually a classmate), but I struggle to imagine an adult intending to blame one for their career change.

I do not know how teachers do it. They should be £200,000 a year, minimum.

the pressure on teachers is ridiculous. So many quitting because it’s just too hard now.
