STEM communities often form around culture change initiatives or shared values, and to move the needle on an issue, members regularly volunteer their time, expertise, and/or influence.

Community managers in STEM are, therefore, frequently recruiting and empowering volunteers in service of the community’s activities.

This might look like convening a scientific steering committee to oversee a conference program, or facilitating a working group to author a report or white paper.

If you’re currently working with volunteers, and have questions or concerns around how to encourage more of your members to participate without seeming “demanding,” join us for our next Mini-workshop: eventbrite.com/e/cscce-mini-wo

We’ll discuss how to flip the narrative from self-doubt and scarcity to center volunteers in a way that empowers and supports them in working together and builds your confidence as a community organizer.

If the cost of purchasing a ticket to the Mini-workshop is a barrier to your participation, please let us know by completing this brief course discount request form: forms.gle/gP5NF6BC5mDxMXSDA
