Finally got a positive response from a house to rent, so it looks like we'll be able to move this weekend! Such a huge relief.

And of course, the first thing I do is look up hackerspaces in the area. I've actually only visited a hackerspace once, and that was about 10 years ago, in Texas... But I really miss being around other makers/hackers in person. Looks like the closest hackerspaces will be @ccchh, @hspacehb, and CCC Bremen. Any suggestions?
