@cmconseils @Edent And yet so many members of the Alt Text Police are happy to post videos with no subtitles at all. Almost as if they don't actually care about accessibility and are just on a bandwagon...
(Almost) deaf person here. Subtitles are underrated, especially here in the Fediverse.
I started using them back in the early 2000s when my hearing started going. Still use them now, even with hearing aids, as it鈥檚 still hard to understand speech sometimes. Also found our German exchange students really appreciated it, because it made it easier for them to watch with us too.
I went through the same process. And hearing aids, as we know, are a great help, but are a far cry from restituting full hearing.
Foreign audiences will be greatly helped by subtitles, even in English, I'm sure.
