@denzilferreira @gamingonlinux because of harassment from FOSS purists when he said he had a Bluesky account. It got bad enough that he made said Bluesky his primary account.
@ultrasquid @gamingonlinux ah the internet tribalisms never boded well in society. Only Liam can decide what to install and use. Great that we still see the posts here though. Maybe one day Liam comes back and ignores the noise.
@ultrasquid @denzilferreira @gamingonlinux
what is frustrating is that most people criticised the Bluesky itself, but Liam took it personal. I didn't see any comments about people telling him what to use. Maybe there were some that I missed, but that would be rare individuals.Criticizing a platform is normal, hating people for using something is not.
@denzilferreira @gamingonlinux the person stopped a few days ago because of a lot of.
... Very unfriendly and annoying replies over certain things. Basically throwing stones like. In the life of Brian everytime someone mentions bsky
@denzilferreira @gamingonlinux in short the discussions get pretty heated around here, especially if you dare to support non free platforms and software. With a large amount of followers it's just too much.
@anzah @gamingonlinux Yeah, I can see that. It's about reach and audience. One should not care what platform/social media/software one uses. Only person that matters is the one that is there. If people are so against those platforms, they won't see the posts anyway. Posting on X, Bluesky, whatever it is acts to broadcast the message that Linux gaming exists and is possible, as far as I can see. But anyway, Liam's work is appreciated, whether here or somewhere else. Hopefully, his work is visible in all places.
