Heh, I think I fired a couple of bullets with this thing as a teenager (part of the from today's pov very questionably 'paramilitary training' in the East German school system) - it was literally just 5 minutes of 'here's the gun, there's the target, you have 3 shots' and that was it for the whole training lol):

Which rather defeats the purpose of accurately replicating the exterior and controls of the AKM.

tbh for the longest time I thought that I fired an actual AK, guess I didn't pay much attention back then ;)

...re 'replicating', I think they simply used existing parts of the East German AK which was built under license by Wieger:

...apparently those were of better build quality than the original AKs ;)
