@lavndrblue @lindyli gerrymandering doesn’t effect a governor’s race. More likely voter suppression does, but in 2022 the effort to turn out voters for Beto was immense, as was the available info about Abbott’s policies. The majority of Texans voted for him.
I’ve heard this argument before but I would really like an explanation on how this argument holds water when looking at a statewide election where raw vote totals count unless TX does something super weird with this race.
