Trans rights are human rights.

This bubbled up this morning because an article about the new HBO MAX Harry Potter series floated across my screen and got me seething.
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it here, but one of my sisters is trans, as is her partner. Lovely people.
And I’m not doing that “Every woman is somebody’s sister/daughter/wife” thing. My connection to her isn’t why this matters to me.
But it is why I take transphobia very, very personally.
You need the world to be a fair place where everyone can get on with their lives without unnecessary grief. The real world is not like that, it is seething torturous catacomb of suffering with things barely recognisable push a way through unendurable horrors. When a small part of that pops up into your consciousness, strangely you focus on the personal injustice, when the real victims go unnoticed
max is describing his path to awareness and concern
which is as valid as anyone's path, including yours
we all have a path in this world to awareness of injustice and suffering. none is better than any other, as long as the destination is the same
don't be an asshole to other people about their path. i would like to examine yours and shit all over it too. nah, i wouldn't do that. because i'm not like you. your condescension is part of the horrors in the world

well that explains the rancid nonsense
