Me: "Obi Wan never told you why still uses the VP8 to record screencasts, instead of newer codecs…"
Them: "He told me enough! He told me hates its users!"
Me: "No. It's mostly a temporary performance tradeoff around a middleware & problem."
Them: "No… No… It's not true… That's impossible!"
Me: "Search the commits log. You KNOW it to be true."
Them: "DO NOT WANT"

I wondered why I couldn't see the thread anymore; now I know.
Unfortunate when someone blocks me for stating factual info in response to their misconceptions hurting a FLOSS project's reputation with their social megaphone.
As a triager with elevated powers, it's a good thing I'm not petty, & that I make it a point to handle bug reports fairly (well, except if it's a demand to hand over the protocol droid; I dismantled that one and sold the parts to the XFCE developers on Tatooine).
Indeed, that is part of what I explained in that thread and in this ticket comment: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/3371#note_2140982
