It is raining Starlink satellites. 865 came already down, another 329 are on their way down. Most come down in small harmless fragments, but there is a very small chance you might be killed by larger pieces weighing a few pounds.

Wow, more than 10% loss? Is that normal?

Their specified lifetime is five years, and given what they sent up, they seem to be hitting that target, and we can expect 1000-1500 coming down every year soon, and up to 7000 per year should the extended constellation of 34,400 satellites be reached. Lots of trash.

They really are throwaway satellites… i went down the rabbit hole and tried collecting information where they are likely to crash. But after seeing this map, most of the globe is at risk (a really tiny risk though)

@pavel23 @crash_override Comparing the data: That means that between 2022 and 2025 the number og Satellites growed from 1919 to 7916???? That's kind if shocking....
