Saw this old sign on a shed door in St John's Town of Dalry as we were starting that section of the Southern Upland Way. From a time when advertising was more subtle, and far less shouty.

It never made sense though. Leaving aside the tyres, saddle, brakes and handlebar grips, what else would they have been made of? Brass? Cast iron?
