So, I've been kind of put in charge of the archives of the classic

disk magazine . 13 years and 680MB of disk images and related things for $15, here: rodneylives.itch.io/loadstar

I'm still trying to figure out how to make it more browseable. I have some ideas.

That's one big archive! I'll let the folks at TPUG know

Thanks! Me and a couple of people from loadstarce.com have been working to make sure everything works, we've fixed up some images from versions that were broken on the original CD.

that looks like ... a lot of work.

I'm working with a local academic computer museum to see what we can do for the records of several local user groups. Sadly, a whole bunch of the detailed stuff that the museum really wanted got thrown out a few months ago. There's plenty more, but not of internal paper documents

There's a lot of old user group info in the later issues of Loadstar, I think, I haven't checked those files.

thanks - maybe I can find stuff about TPUG

Talking of, would you like to present (virtually) at a TPUG meeting about reviving Loadstar?

a question from someone on TPUG's discord: is this more complete* than the CD that Fender Tucker used to sell?

*: or even, more compleat.

There are three primary downloads in the collection. "loadstar-full" has all the files from the CD, plus some fixes. A handful of issues didn't work for one reason or another, those have been fixed. (There may still be a problem with GEOS content on 1581 disk images after issue 74, they need to be recopied.)

The other two, "loadstar-main-windows" and "loadstar-main-linux", are smaller downloads but are still substantively complete. They focus on emulation and only contain the 1581 disks (unless d64 images are all that were on the CD), but set up so a menuing system I created can be used to explore the ~6,800 items throughout all the disks.
