So at some point Mastodon’s first-party client broke its screen transitions? They just jump into view with broken animations.

Is it just my phone? I’d expect more people would talk about this.

Don’t they use some sort of cross-platform web framework thing?

This seems about par for the course for such things.

@jeff @sandofsky That's wrong, the native apps are built with the platform-native UI toolkits.

This has been driving me nuts!

Also looks busted if you swipe back to navigate.

Smells like a routing / NavigationStack refactor.

@goondaba @sandofsky Thanks for mentioning this, I did not realize it was a recent regression. Definitely have been doing a lot of refactoring, will try to pinpoint where this went wrong. It would definitely be helpful to file a GitHub issue.
