It’s always “AI is great for generating boilerplate code” and never “why do we even need boilerplate code, maybe programming is broken”

Exactly! Like, what if we took all those trillions of dollars and all those GPUs sucking all the water out of the ground and put it towards designing some better programming languages and paradigms that make humans actually more productive!

“Our Ph.D. level app generator can now build your entire codebase out of…React & Tailwind”

it's great for boiler plate code when you enjoy reviewing and correcting boiler plate code

💯 if boilerplate is your problem you use the wrong programming language (framework, library) or you use it wrong.

same with using chatbot as 'fix' for crappy ux.

Why do people hate boilers, anyway? Or at least their plating.

@dawngreeter @thomasfuchs Because flow-type heaters are more efficient and dont waste so much energy. Aside of potential hygienic issues.

@ginsterbusch @thomasfuchs But surely they have a very similar kind of plating, albeit less of it?

If a "wizard" is needed to generate boilerplate code to call the API, the API is bad. (Hmmm... where have I seen the most code-generating "wizards" and who's trying to push "AI" into software development tools?)

Do not use AI and do not promote AI.
