Tomorrow morning, I will head off to move onto a sailboat in preparation for a 10-day cruise. Looking to enjoy the local waters of New England (RI and MA). I sail like I hike-- modest distance each day, while spending lots of time enjoying my surroundings. I'll try to connect to Mastodon from time to time when I have service. See you on the other side!
Had a great sail today to the second island. Needed to time the trip around some strong currents— check out the green navigation buoy (a “can”) in the left pic leaning over in the current. Arrived to a gorgeous harbor. Too crowded for me— I chose to anchor outside the harbor. Tomorrow we sail to another island!
Sailed to a third island in three days today! Weather continues to cooperate. After a brief rain this morning, the front moved by giving good winds and sun. Check out the right pic— shows the tail end of the front moving over us leaving blue skies. It’s so great being out on the ocean and able to see the entire weather pattern!
