Study begun pre-COVID finds remote work increased sleep by 1/2 hr/night, decreased commute by 4.5 hr/week replaced with work, family & leisure and led to healthier eating. Remote and hybrid employees report higher job satisfaction and well-being. https://farmingdale-observer.com/2025/05/16/scientists-have-been-studying-remote-work-for-four-years-and-have-reached-a-very-clear-conclusion-working-from-home-makes-us-happier/
A while back I saw a study of US health insurance, finding that it would save businesses money if the US had universal state-funded healthcare like Europe. Why on earth would they then choose to support the current insurance-based system, that makes them LESS profitable ? The answer, surely, must be that it gives them more power over workers. Power first, profit second.
Plus, the rentiers skimming large proportions of health spending fight against it tooth and nail.
@amydiehl @Furthering Hello, this is the original article with details of the original study and the team.
The Farmingdale Observer is quite a piece of work.

The Attentionfarming Observer is often linked to here, they have a good eye for what will draw a crowd. It鈥檚 easy to object to their exploitation of research, but I鈥檓 now also intrigued by their mimicry of a local news outlet with its real history. This speaks to something we all still want to trust.
