I also updated the internet resiliency club HOWTO with some more hardware info and links to talks:
Suggestions and corrections welcome!
The very short version of internet resiliency club is: organize some internet nerds in your area to buy a bunch of LoRa radios
- More time than money? Buy a Heltec V3
- More money than time? Buy a LILYGO T-Echo
- Flash your radio with Meshtastic over USB
- Use 868 MHz in EU and LONG_FAST
- Make a private channel
- Practice regularly
Feeling ambitious?
- Add a power bank with trickle charge (eg Anker 326)
- Add a 15W solar panel (eg Heko Unfold 15)
- Upgrade the antenna (eg Taoglas TI.08.A)
I got confused by the abbreviation IRC. To me it means Internet Relay Chat, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRC
OTOH I might still get used to a new meaning :)
This comment strikes me as somewhat ironic, given that I first met @vaurora on an Internet Relay Chat channel several decades ago.
