Really thinking there's got to be a way to make access to the internet with less advertising clutter more effortless.

I don't mind ads. It's the "6 ads and 2 auto playing videos just to read a recipe or a news article" experience that I don't appreciate.

You don't mind ads, they get your money, they build billion dollar empires that hire geniuses to punish you for using an ad blocker. They get more money, rinse, repeat. Ultimately it's not the ads that matter, so much as the wealth disparity. They have too much power, we have too little. But the ads help make that happen, and the ads convince you to not mind ads. Please mind ads.

I technically sell advertising, so it feels odd to say I hate advertising. But what I hate is intrusive advertising. Excessive advertising. Enshittification with advertising.

But your point is well received.

Can't blame you for feeding yourself. It's still a rotten business. The less intrusive and shitty you are, the less your ads will sell. If you took all the bad out of advertising, you would be a librarian, with no job other than to help people find out about what they want.

I wanted to be a librarian... no money in it though.
