Spoken Word is a community radio program providing a grassroots platform on 3CR for the poetry community, making connection between live performance, printed literature and radio listeners. Our guests are contemporary poets who read and discuss their works. Spoken Word is inherently eclectic and gives voice to diverse forms of poetic expression.
Spoken Word airs every Thursday at 9:00am AEST on 3CR 855AM or 3CRDigital. Shows are podcast.
This week we present a live recording of poet and songwriter, Simone Spittle, performing at Cherry Poets in early July. Simone has toured nationally several times, most recently with her one-woman cabaret show ‘Beauty In The Beast’ for a residency at the Butterfly Club theatre in Melbourne.
We also hear poems by Lily Thomson and Steven Atkinson.
