You can definitely tell that some of Apple's first party app redesigns were made by people who don't use the apps. Like Podcasts burying the chapter list so deep on the Mac, or the confusing series of things you need to know to click on to get to the show notes. If you used the app even once a week you would never choose to hide these things away like that
