I posted on Threads about Pixar's renderfarm circa Toy Story (1995) and how the servers played farm animal noises when they finished frames.
This has led to a question of when network rendering was first called a "render farm".
Some have floated Autodesk — according to some legend there was someone who managed the servers that dressed in overalls, during the creation of "The Bored Room."
Anyone who was around at the time know definitively? @Drwave
