GTK is a general purpose graphical toolkit for a wide variety of environments, from desktop to mobile platforms. You can use GTK to build beautiful applications on Linux, as well as Windows and macOS, using one of the many programming languages that support it.
On August 15, 1997, @Migueldeicaza announced the start of GNOME on the GTK mailing list¹. Twenty-eight years later a lot has changed, but we continue to develop and iterate on “a free and complete set of user friendly applications and desktop tools… based entirely on free software.”

Elk is a nimble Mastodon web client. You can login to your Mastodon account and use it to interact with the fediverse.
