I feel like this day and age has birthed a lot of people who want this world to revolve around them so badly that they're addicted to being the center of attention.

It makes every interaction with them feel hollow. When you're constantly trying to appease everyone and playing to the audience, is there really anything genuine left? Doubtful. It's a sham, a shell, crafted specifically to garner more, more, more to feed the greedy, salivating need to be adored.
