I wrote a 3000+ word case study about the making of fonts for Pentiment, the latest game from Obsidian.
The case study is the story of making an extremely thorough toolkit of digital fonts to let the team at Obsidian accurately, warmly, and legibly recreate the writing of people living 500 years ago. In total we drew over 2,700 glyphs (including inking these by hand with authentic writing tools).
