New: MeitY met four media bodies to discuss two primary issues in the DPDP Act: removal of exemption for journalistic work, and dilution of the RTI Act.

MeitY said journalists are not data fiduciaries + S8(2) of RTI Act retains the act’s strength despite the amendment of S8(1)(j).
