3/3 I’ve been doing pretty well on persistence and optimism until now, but in Q2 it’s getting harder. Most of the limited available UXR roles are contract roles, which I have been going out for because I want to get back to work, but it also feels like a step back in my career. Fingers crossed that hiring for UXRs picks up in Q3.

2/3 Not making much progress in my job search in Nov and Dec felt fine—I figured there would be more hiring in Q1. In Q1, I interviewed a lot but after interviewing, a few recruiters asked me to wait, sometimes 2 weeks or a month before rejecting me. It probably indicates I’ve been the 2nd or 3rd choice a lot, which is theoretically a good sign. But repeatedly being asked to wait like that after meeting great teams and building what I thought was a good rapport with them has been rough.
