Joseph LeDoux is Henry and Lucy Moses Professor and directs the Emotional Brain Institute at NYU. He researchers brain mechanisms of emotion, memory, and consciousness and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences. He is author of The Emotional Brain, Anxious and other books, is the 2023 President-Elect of the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness and lead singer and songwriter in the rock band The Amygdaloids

n 1979, one year after my PhD, Mike Gazzaniga, my mentor, invited me to join a meeting in Spain sponsored by the the Cognitive Neuroscience Institute (a precursor to the Cognitive Neuroscience Society). Got to hang out with heavy hitters of the day, including Dave Premack, John O'Keefe, Gary Lynch, Jon Kaas, and others. I just stumbled across these photos in a box on a shelf accidentally today.
