It's taken me a while to finish The Dawn Of Everything - it's 525 pages long and quite dense - but it was totally worth it. It reexamines history by looking at the many periods (the majority?) when there weren't kings, empires & hierarchical societies, questions a lot of assumptions about who was in charge, and suggests we're asking the wrong questions about our past. Highly recommended for anyone interested in how societies could and should be organised.
