ISS Solar Transit
Today the International Space Station crossed the face of the Sun again! As usual, if it’s not one thing, it’s another—this time, the weather didn’t really play along. We’re right in the middle of a weather shift, with a lot of Saharan dust in the upper atmosphere and a noticeable temperature change.
Dust usually helps stabilize things a bit, but the temperature difference at different altitudes caused a lot of turbulence. That made it tough to catch any fine details on the ISS. In some frames, the Sun’s edge looked like it was bubbling! Fortunately, after stacking the eight frames, it smoothed out a bit.
The final image is a stack of those eight frames.
Sadly, no extra detail could be pulled from the ISS or the solar disk and its sunspots this time...
