software developer (with a degree in physics – but that was long ago). I publish in English and Italian (currently more in English), + German, French & Spanish occasionally (mainly in answers). BTW, the black background of X is appropriate: the colour of death, and in Italy (where I live) also the colour of fascism.

Billionaire Elon Musk is trying to get his hands on the UK’s energy market.

His company, Tesla, has just applied for a licence to supply electricity to British households - and Ofgem, the regulator in charge, has to decide whether or not to give him the green light.

We know Musk’s track record: union-busting, cutting corners, and putting profit above safety and people. Not to mention his nasty habit of trying to meddle in our politics - and this new venture could make it easier for him to do more of that. Our energy system should be run in the interest of the public and not as another billionaire’s business venture.

A massive show of public pressure could be the difference between Ofgem approving this plan or stopping it in its tracks. Imagine tens of thousands of us standing together to say: our homes, our bills, and our future should not be handed over to the world’s richest person in his latest attempt to make a few quid.

So, can you add your name to the petition and say no to Musk’s UK energy plans. It will only take a few seconds to sign:
