Celebrator of little moments, lover of ferns and rain, I use paper to fashion unfolding stories.

Profile illustration by Lucie-Blaževská reads “Kia kaha (e hoa!)” New Zealand expression in the Maori language, meaning "Stay strong and kind, friend.” Header of a gift I made, wrapped inside a Dala horse shaped box, waiting to be opened.

Houseplants are such a barometer of self care, although the flower pictured here is one I made from paper.

I have a weekly alert to water the houseplants, but it’s usually just a backup to remind me if I’ve been preoccupied. If I’ve been taking time for myself, I’ll water when they catch my attention by loosing their alertness, like a drooping ficus leaf or a leaning peace lily spike.
This week both the plants and I have been thirsty, despite the break from the heat. I’m noticing I’m drinking more water, even though I’ve been avoiding going out during the hottest part of the day. Are you staying hydrated?
Despite the bright hues, this color combination feels cooling to me. The green section below the “flower” unravels. I hid gifts inside the paper heliconia as I glued the spathes together.
