I think one of the things we don’t take seriously enough is this strategy of knowing lies. Trump, Johnson, Farage, etc. - they lie almost constantly and there is a duping enjoyment of getting away with it. I’ll never forget the look on Putin’s face when he was interviewed about the Salisbury poisonings and he denied any involvement. There was such a sense of delight on his face as he spoke the lie.
There are people in every society who see that and enjoy that power vicariously.
